PDS 0.98k release

PDS 0.98k is released with the following changes

1. Several code cleanup changes.

This is just a code cleanup release for 4.15 kernel, before the incoming feature release(hopefully in 2 or 3 weeks).

Enjoy PDS 0.98k for v4.15 kernel, and "Happy CNY", :)

code are available at
and also

 All-in-one patch is available too.

  1. Compiles/boots fine (all combinations of SMP/UP, 32/64), thanks.

  2. Seems to be fine, games & compilations running pretty good. Ryzen & i7 here.

    BR, Eduardo

  3. @Alfred:
Why have you taken out the fast strings commit?

    BR, Manuel Krause

    1. There is confict in 4.15 and mainline seems already fix it, the final reason is that I don't have those affected cpu any more to verify. As it's not my own kernel code changes, I just use it, so it's time to let it go, :)

    2. @Alfred:
Yes, this very conflict made me wonder. Thank you for clarifying it. Although still being dependent on my old machine, I don't need it to be tuned to the maximum (throughput). And then, the conflicting section in 4.15 covers the spectre/ meltdown work, and that work has much higher priority.
